Summary
McKenzie
Arnold Security undertook the provision of comprehensive Security
Services for the International Indian Film Awards and associated
activities in Yorkshire over the period Wednesday 6th of June to
Sunday 10th of June 2007.
The
project had a £120,000.00 contract value and involved up to
70 SIA licensed event security and close protection officers.
The
IIFA’s are known as the ‘Bollywood Oscars’. The
event was spread across four days and included, star studded VIP
receptions, special events to raise funds for charities, including
a celebrity cricket match, a huge awards ceremony which included,
a spectacular celebrity red carpet arrival at Sheffield Arena which
was an instant sell out event. The live awards ceremony was broadcast
to a worldwide television audience of over 1 billion people.
A
major part of this assignment was the understanding of cultural
diversities involving VIP’s, professionals, and visitors from
all around the globe.
Within the service McKenzie Arnold provided;
Comprehensive Risk Management and Risk Assessments for 1500 VIP
guests
A
specific Security Management team to oversee and consult on the
IIFA weekend including the provision, implementation and initiation
of emergency and incident response procedures, development of counter
– terrorism initiatives and the initiation of an event control
working group. This group included all local authorities and the
Police service up to Assistant Chief Constable level.
Human
and physical asset assessment and protection including a 35 person
Close Protection Team, Residential Security Teams at Hotels and
places of residence, a 24 hour stand by security team, the provision
of response security teams able to move between events and places
of arrival and departure and a dedicated event security team to
liaise with all venues and represent the interests of the IIFA’s
at all times.
