First
Aid at Events
If
you are currently organising an event you may have considered event
security but have you given any attention to medical provision?
Events
are being organised and attended all the time and on the whole they
are enjoyed by all who attend them. However, it is important that
event organisers prepare for all eventualities and this not only
means security but also ensuring that sufficient medical provision
is also onsite to help, if needed. In fact, it is the duty and obligation
of the event organiser to ensure that adequate medical provision
is at the venue.
In
organising medical provision you will need to consider how many
people you anticipate will attend the event and what type of venue
the event is being held at. You will need to take into account any
Risk Assessment
that the event security company has undertaken and ensure that the
provision you organise directly corresponds to the result of this
Risk Assessment. You need to ensure that if something does go wrong
during the event or if someone falls ill, that you have the correct
amount of medical staff to be able to help.
Some
pointers regarding first aid provision you might like to think about
when organising the event include:
- The
presence of medical services will provide peace of mind to attendees
and event staff alike
- Book
any medical services well in advance
- Ensure
that the Medical Services provider has a "Duty Order"
detailing the operation of services for the event and a contingency
plan for major incidents
- If
organising a large outdoor event consider using medical services
which provide bicycle emergency response teams

you are in need of a reputable event security company to ensure
